# TheirStack - How do I link my account?

## Overview

To authenticate with TheirStack, you will need:

1. **API Key** - A secret key used to authenticate requests to the TheirStack API.

This guide will walk you through generating your API key in TheirStack.

### Prerequisites

* A TheirStack account with access to **Settings → API Keys**.

### Instructions

#### Step 1: Generate your API key

1. Log in to your TheirStack account.
2. Navigate to **Settings → API Keys**.
3. Click **Create API key**.

4. Give your key a name and choose an expiration policy — either a specific date or **Never**. We recommend choosing a long expiration or no expiration to avoid unexpected disruptions.

5. Copy your API key and store it somewhere safe. For security reasons, the key is only shown once.

#### Step 2: Enter your API key in the Connect UI

Once you have your **API Key**:

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with TheirStack.
2. Enter your **API Key** in the designated field.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.

You are now connected to TheirStack.
