# Incident.io - How do I link my account?

## Overview

To authenticate with Incident.io, you will need:

1. **API Key** - A key that grants Nango permission to interact with the Incident.io API.

This guide will walk you through generating your **API Key** within Incident.io.

### Prerequisites:

* You must have a registered account with Incident.io with at least a `Teams` tier Plan.

### Instructions:

#### Step 1: Generating Your API Key

1. Login to your [Incident.io](https://app.incident.io/settings/api-keys) dashboard.
2. Navigate to the `Settings` menu and select `API Keys`.
3. Click **Add New** to create a new API Key and choose what actions it can take for your account.
4. Copy and store your API Key securely as it will only be shown once.

#### Step 2: Enter credentials in the Connect UI

Once you have the **API Key**:

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Incident.io.
2. Enter the **API Key** in its respective field.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.
